What we do
Making Nature’s Value Visible
Shaping agricultural policies for enhanced productivity, sustainability, and food security in the face of climate change

Transforming Food Systems
The True Value of Food Project - Kenya is driving a shift towards sustainable, nature-positive agriculture by uncovering hidden costs and benefits for farming practices. Through evidence-based policy, stakeholder collaboration, and True Value Accounting (TVA), the project supports decision-makers in crafting policies that enhance biodiversity, improve livelihoods, and ensure long-term food security. By integrating science, economics, and local knowledge, this project is building a resilient food system that works for people and the planet.

Establish Economic Case
The True Value of Food Project—Kenya utilizes True Value Accounting (TVA) to uncover agricultural activities' hidden environmental and social impacts. By integrating these insights into national accounts and policy frameworks, the project supports biodiversity preservation, sustainable livelihoods, and pro-nature decision-making.

Policy Development & Integration
Guiding the development of pro-nature policies at the national and county level of governments to build climate-resilient food systems that enhance environmental sustainability, and improve human well-being. Integration of TVA approach into the policy frameworks including national policies and county Integrated Development Plans (CIDPs), by embedding natural capital valuation and ecosystem services assessment into decision-making processes, we support policymakers in designing interventions that account for the true value of biodiversity and ecosystem services in food systems.

Knowledge for Impact.
The project goes beyond policy reforms by fostering a mindset shift, data-driven decision-making, and community empowerment. It bridges the gap between science, policy, and practice by equipping stakeholders with the necessary tools and knowledge to drive sustainable change.
