Context and Significance

Agriculture contributes 65% of Kenya’s export earnings and supports over 80% of the population. Despite its importance, the sector remains underdeveloped. The True Value of Food Project – Kenya seeks to emphasize the development of policy levers addressing both market and non-market factors that enhance agricultural productivity and sustainability, mitigate extreme climate change impacts on agriculture, alleviate natural resource pressures, ensure the population’s access to safe and nutritious food, and diversify export value chains.
