Prof. Jacqueline McGlade
Prof. Jacqueline McGlade is a renowned researcher and academic in the field of environmental science and sustainability. As the Principal Investigator for The True Value of Food Project (in Kenya) she will lead the research team in assessing and quantifying the economic value of ecosystem services and the impacts of food systems on natural capital. Her role will involve overseeing the project’s strategic direction, ensuring robust data collection and analysis, and guiding the development of actionable insights for food system transformation in Kenya. Her expertise in environmental valuation and sustainability will be crucial in driving the project’s success.

Rosemary Orlale- Okello
Rosemary is the Director of the Africa Media Hub at Strathmore University Business School and a Post-Doctoral Fellow in Public Policy and Administration under the Global Leadership Program at the International School of Management (ISM) in Paris, France. She holds an MA in Communication, focusing on New Media, Governance, and Democracy from the University of Leicester, UK. With over three decades of experience, Rosemary has held significant roles, including Program Officer at the Ford Foundation and Founder and Executive Director of African Woman and Child Feature Service. Her research interests include women and media, gender and conflict, and data for public good.

Jackson Kiok
Research Officer in Strathmore Hub for Natural Capital specialising in environmental policy analysis and research. He has contributed to policy analysis related to environment, climate change, and wildlife conservation for the UNEP’s TEEB initiative in Kenya. His prior roles include working as a Research Assistant on a climate change project in Kajiado County, where he led a team in data collection and analysis, and as an intern at the Ministry of East African Community, ASALS, and Regional Development. Juliet Hinga
Juliet is the Communications Manager for The True Value of Food Project (in Kenya) With a strong background in strategic communication, and stakeholder engagement, Juliet is responsible for shaping and implementing communication strategies to enhance the project’s visibility and impact. She plays a crucial role in managing media relations, crafting key messages, and ensuring effective dissemination of information to stakeholders and the public. Her work is vital in highlighting the importance of transforming food systems in Kenya for greater environmental and economic resilience.

Eden Meles
The Administrative Manager for the Project, overseeing operations, coordination, and stakeholder engagement to ensure the project's seamless execution. With a strong background in project management and administration, she plays a key role in facilitating collaboration between researchers, policymakers, and local communities. Eden is committed to advancing sustainable food systems by supporting efficient processes, fostering partnerships, and ensuring that project goals align with Kenya’s national and global sustainability priorities

Stephen Kimani
A finance professional with a strong background in managing financial operations and ensuring fiscal responsibility. As the Finance Manager for The True Value of Food Project (in Kenya) he oversees the financial aspects of the project. His responsibilities include budgeting, financial reporting, and managing expenditures to ensure the project remains on track financially. Stephen’s expertise in financial planning and analysis will be instrumental in supporting the project’s goals and ensuring efficient use of resources.

Benson Ngotiek
A trained Project Manager and an Intern at the Strathmore Natural Capital Hub (SHNC). He has hands-on experience in implementing community-based environmental projects in the Maasai Mara, including his work at the Sekenani Environmental Technology Centre. Benson has also played a key role in establishing hydroponic growing systems in both the Mara and Nanyuki, promoting sustainable agriculture and innovative food production techniques.

Evelyne Njau
Evelyne Njau is a True Value Accounting of Nature Program and Research Officer at the Strathmore Natural Capital Hub. Her work focuses on developing advisory strategies using community-led, co-design citizen science approaches to provide compelling evidence that informs policymaking and decision-making in Innovation Communities & Prosperity, Nature Capital Frameworks & Emerging Markets, and Transforming Africa’s Food & Fibre Systems. She has served as Lead Rapporteur for the Africa Climate Summit ’23 intergovernmental process, co-designed Prosperity research in TRANSFORM’s “Future of Work” project, and is currently implementing the UN-TEEB True Value of Food Programme and GoK Policy Integration on Ecosystem Management of Natural Capital.

Monica Chuchu
Monica is a research officer specializing as a Geographic Information Systems(GIS) specialist at Strathmore Natural Capital Hub. She previously served as a GIS intern at Geothermal Development Company and Kenya Power and Lighting Company, gaining hands on experience in applying geospatial technologies in the energy sector. Monica brings her expertise to the True Value of Food project (in Kenya) in spatial data acquisition, analysis, modelling and mapping. This is instrumental in transforming food systems in Kenya through supporting evidence-based decision making by converting spatial data into actionable insights.
